Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival- Saigon City Tour
Upon your arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, you'll be pick up and transferred to your Caravelle Hotel to leave your luggage. 

Later, you'll enjoy a guided city tour starting with the Reunification Palace, the former Presidential Palace for the president of the South of Vietnam. Your delicious lunch will be served at a nice “Pho“restaurant in the city centre.

After lunch time, you will visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post office to get good shots for our memory of the big, modern city of Vietnam. You will continue by heading to Chinatown with  walking tour through back streets of China town near Cho Lon to view the local daily life. Stop off for a visit of Thien Hau temple, which was built in the early 19th Century dedicated to Thien Hau, the goddess of seafarers. We delve deeper into Chinatown visiting the amazing Cholon and Binh Tay Market for an insight into where locals shop. Then you'll will be back to hotel at around 17:30-18.00PM.

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels Half-day
Depart Ho Chi Minh City at 0800 in the morning for the drive to Cu Chi district. Leaving the city behind, the scenery changes to views of rice paddies, villagers drying noodles by the side of the road and other scenes typical to southern Vietnam.

Arrive and start the visit of the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which consist of an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters (Viet Cong) during both the French and American wars. Start the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc sections of the tunnel. Here you can imagine what it was like to be a guerrilla complete with Russian Carbine rifles and AK 47’s on display. After that, you'll then be driven to your hotel. The afternoon will be your own.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - My Tho - Ben Tre - Cai Be
Meeting point is at 10h30 at the lobby of the Caravelle Hotel. Then, drive through to My Tho - the gateway to the Mekong Delta. On arrival, embark on board L’AMANT and enjoy a delectable lunch while getting acquainted with the crew.

In the afternoon, board a river-boat to explore the hidden treasures of the Xep canal and islands, full of tropical fruit gardens. An exciting ride on a carriage drawn by small horses awaits you for a stroll through fascinating farming villages. Enjoy the tasty fruits and tea with natural honey. Then continue your journey on a sampan boat through the canals before getting back on board of L’AMANT.

Welcome dinner and overnight on board.

Day 4: Cai Be - Vinh Long - Sa Dec
After breakfast, embarking on a local sampan boat and sail through the Cai Be’s floating market and taking the rowing boat through the numerous arroyos and be captivated by the serenity of the Mekong Delta. Visit an ancient colonial house and a rice popcorn factory and taste the local specialties.

Return on board of L’AMANT for lunch.

In the early afternoon, embark on a small boat for a journey towards An Binh islands. On arrival, continue the tour by bicycle to visit Tien Chau ancient pagoda and discover the everyday life in the Mekong Delta. Continue to visit a traditional house and enjoy some mouth-watering tropical fruits. Then tour on a small boat along the canals and stop at a fruit garden.

Day 5: Sa Dec - Near Chau Doc
After breakfast, visit Sa Dec, the old-fashioned town, famous for its flowers and bonsai plants, and where the French Writer Marguerite Duras spent her childhood. Stop to visit the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, the “house of the Chinese” described in Marguerite Duras’novel L’AMANT, before heading to a Chinese temple and stopping at the tomb of L’AMANT. Finally, pass-by the school where Margerite’s mother has taught as well as the house where she used to live with her children. On the way back, stroll through the lively market streets of this fascinating town.

Return on board for lunch while sailing to Chau Doc. During the afternoon you can enjoy a cooking demonstration and Mekong fruit tasting or just relax on the sun deck. Anchorage on the way to Chau Doc.

Day 6: Chau Doc
In the morning, take a small boat to explore the fascinating floating market of Chau Doc, the border city with Cambodia. Here, early in the morning, tens of sampans gather to trade fruits and vegetables in a surprising ambiance. Head to a floating fishing farm where thousands of fishes are breed for export and visit a mosque in a Cham village.

In the afternoon, visit Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site where you will find a large number of Chinese, Cham and Khmer temples.

Farewell dinner and overnight on board.

Day 7: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh by speedboat
After breakfast, disembark and depart to the Cambodian border by a speed boat, go through the customs formalities and continue your cruise to Phnom Penh arriving at around 12.30. End of services.
